This is the longest
of the par 3’s.
The green is long and narrow, but even when you hit it you cannot
afford to relax. It is especially difficult to putt when the pin
is located on the back right of the green: the tee shot must then
carry a bunker, land back-centre, and roll to the pin, as the putting
surface is sloping away from you.
This particular placement is considered a true test for a championship
golfer. Because of its marvellous vantage points, this hole is
a magnet for the knowledgable spectator.
