LIV Golf League: A Worldwide Sports Sensation

LIV Golf ventured to prestigious golf courses during its inaugural 2022 season, including Centurion Club in London and Rich Harvest Farms in Chicago – and continues to visit championship golf clubs globally.

This is a revolutionary golf league – with 12 teams, 48 players, three rounds of tournament play, shotgun starts, no cuts, shorter playing windows and smaller fields. The LIV Golf name stems from the Roman numeral for 54, known in the sport as the perfect 18-hole score. Each LIV Golf League season culminates with an exhilarating team championship.

Led by CEO Greg Norman, former world No. 1 golfer and World Golf Hall of Famer, LIV Golf’s unique format and blossoming rivalries has already captured the attention of golf fans around the world.

“We received tremendous feedback from fans throughout our beta-test year, with one resounding theme: LIV Golf’s team format, innovations, and festival-like events are delivering a one-of-a-kind golf experience,” Norman said. “Last year helped lay the foundation for the future of golf at extraordinary courses that have hosted some of the world’s top competitions. LIV Golf’s schedule features fantastic venues and championship sites for our official league launch that will carry the sport into a new era.”

Team and individual winners will share a prize purse of $405 million during the LIV Golf League season. LIV Golf events will not conflict with Major tournaments, international team events, or heritage events.
